New Weekend Mass Time for both OLW and Holy Name: Both communities of OLW and Holy Name have supported the new weekend Mass Times. This change will be effected from Saturday/Sunday 5th -6th August 2023. Mass times will be as per roster, on the door and in the bulletin.
Saturday Night: 6:00pm at Our Lady of the Way
Sunday Morning: 9:00am at Our Lady of the Way
Sunday Morning: 10:30am at Holy Name
Sunday Afternoon: 4:00pm at Holy Name (Vietnamese)
THANK YOU, O.L.W PRIMARY SCHOOL: A heartfelt thank you to the Prep and Year 6 students from Our Lady of the Way Primary School who joined us for Mass last Sunday and generously provided morning tea. It was a wonderful morning of community and hospitality. Your presence brings great joy to our parish community and enriches our parish life. We look forward to welcoming you again.
PARISH LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETING: We reflected on recent events including the OLW Primary School morning tea, Mother’s Day celebrations, and the Project Compassion appeal. We also discussed delay in Child Care Development, roof maintenance, upcoming events such as Christmas in July and Winter Appeals. The feedback was very positive, and we thank our parish community for their ongoing generosity and willingness to give. We also acknowledged the parish’s efforts in raising awareness around supporting families in need this Winter, including charity drives. Next meeting: 24th of June.
BLESSING OF HOMES : Anyone wishing to have their houses blessed during the Easter Season, please let Fr John know to organise a time
JULY – DEC ROSTERS: Roster for Special Ministers and Readers will be available shortly. Any changes or new volunteers please forward to Fr John.
GARDEN MAINTENANCE UPDATE: In consultation with Fr John, the Parish Finance Committee and after obtaining various quotes, the parish will proceed with much needed garden maintenance: the replacement of the timber sleepers surrounding the garden and rose beds. The total cost of the works is $5,838, which covers excavation, supply and installation of treated pine sleepers/ joining/ steel pickets, hiring of equipment, clean up, and labour. Parishioners may notice some changes and ongoing works in the coming weeks as we complete this project to enhance and maintain our parish grounds. We will continue to update Parishioners on the works and costs. Please come speak to us if you have questions or concerns.
Church Volunteers : Thank you to our parishioners who continue to volunteer and support the parish: Readers, Ministers, Collectors and Counters, setting up and cleaning after mass, organising social events and morning teas, church and garden maintenance to name a few. Thank you for stepping in and supporting the community of Our Lady of the Way. If you are interested in reading, becoming a Eucharist Minister, or wanting to help out in any way, please speak to Fr John or a member of the Parish Leadership Team (PLT)
